UPSC upload requirements
These are the typical documented values (checked Jul 2026). Applications run on upsconline.nic.in. Portals reject wrong sizes at upload — this page fixes each file to spec and checks your photo's quality automatically, entirely in your browser.
| Upload | Dimensions | File size |
|---|---|---|
| Photograph | 413×531 px | 20–200 KB · JPEG |
| Signature — signed 3 times | 450×450 px | 20–100 KB · JPEG |
How it works
- Add each upload — photo from your phone is fine; signatures/thumb/declaration photographed on white paper. Everything is auto-fixed to exact pixels & KB, and the photo is quality-checked automatically.
- Pick the stage you're at — exam day, verification or counselling — and upload each document into its slot. We validate formats, convert photos to PDFs, unlock password-protected files and flag anything off.
- Build one PDF (with a ✓ checklist cover) or a ZIP — your proof that every document is in and correctly prepared.
Frequently asked questions
What is the photo size for UPSC?
Typically 413×531 px JPEG, 20–200 KB, plain light background — confirm the current notice.
What is the signature size?
Usually 450×450 px JPEG, 20–100 KB — sign on white paper and this page cleans + resizes it.
What should I carry on UPSC exam day?
e-Admit card; Photo ID; PwBD certificate; Two passport photos + a photo ID, in case the admit-card photo is unclear (with an undertaking); Black ballpoint pen. The full exam-day list is on this page — build it as a pack or print it.
How should the UPSC signature be uploaded?
UPSC asks you to sign THREE times, one below the other, in black ink on white paper, and upload all three as a single image (20–100 KB). The photo must have the face filling about 75% of the frame on a plain white background.
Is it private?
Yes — resizing, cleaning, the photo-quality check and the stage packs all run in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
