Tier-II and the results: dates not announced yet.
One tap puts every important CHSL date — Tier-I now, and Tier-II and the results once SSC announces them — into your phone's calendar. A new date appears there by itself, so you don't have to keep checking.
Choose your calendar:
On Android, Google Calendar adds a calendar only from its website — the button opens it for you.

SSC asks you to upload one file: your signature, a JPG of 10 KB to 20 KB, about 6 cm wide and 2 cm high. Add a photo of it in the box at the top of this page and we size it.
A blurred or miniature signature gets the form rejected — unless you used Aadhaar authentication.

The form takes your photo live. Keep it clear and full-frontal, without a cap or spectacles. Never photograph an old photo — that form is rejected. At the exam you must look like this photo.

SSC advises Aadhaar authentication when you register. With it, the form isn't rejected over the photo or signature, and on exam day you need no extra photos or photo ID.

With blindness, a locomotor disability affecting both arms, or cerebral palsy, you get a scribe or assistive technology if you want one. With another benchmark disability, you need a certificate from a government hospital's Chief Medical Officer, Civil Surgeon or Medical Superintendent (Annexure I).
Bringing your own scribe? They must first complete SSC's One-Time Registration with Aadhaar authentication. When your admission certificate goes live, enter your scribe's OTR number and the OTP sent to their phone.
With a scribe, Tier-I is 80 minutes instead of 60.

Bring the printed admission certificate. If you didn't use Aadhaar authentication, report two hours before the exam with two recent passport-size colour photos and an original photo ID showing your date of birth as on the admission certificate.

It only qualifies, but every DEO candidate must take it. You type an English passage into the computer.

English: 35 words a minute, typing a passage for 10 minutes.
Hindi: 30 words a minute, for 10 minutes — in the Mangal font only; any other font fails the test.
It only qualifies. The language is the one you chose in the form — it can't be changed.
With a scribe you get 5 minutes more. Certified by a government Civil Surgeon as unable to type? You can be exempted (Annexure XIII).

Before the result, SSC asks for your preferences of posts and departments online. A post you don't list isn't considered for you, and your choices can't be changed afterwards. Miss the deadline and you aren't considered for any post.

The merit list comes from your marks in Tier-II Sections I and II only, as long as you qualify the computer test and the skill or typing test. Your post is given by merit and your preferences.
SSC keeps no waiting list; it uses a sliding mechanism instead.

Bring photocopies and originals when you are asked: your 10th certificate, your Class 12 certificate, and your caste or category certificate if you are reserved.
A claim in your form that a document doesn't back up gets your candidature cancelled.
Your PwBD certificate in the required format.
Ex-servicemen: the undertaking (Annexure VIII), the serving-defence certificate (Annexure VII) if it applies, and your discharge certificate.
Working for the government or a government undertaking? A No Objection Certificate — and the certificate for any age relaxation you claimed.
Name changed after your 10th? Bring the proof the notice lists for your case — for example a deed poll or affidavit, two newspaper cuttings and the gazette notification.

Questions
The notice gives two signature widths. Which is right?
Its rule says about 6 cm wide and 2 cm high; a checklist elsewhere in the notice gives a narrower width. We follow the rule — and the notice rejects miniature signatures.
Can I change my typing-test language now?
No — the choice you made in the form is final.
Do my Tier-I marks count in the final merit?
No. Tier-I only takes you to Tier-II; the merit list comes from Tier-II Sections I and II.
Can women apply for BRO's LDC posts?
No — BRO's vacancies are for men only, and they have physical and medical standards (Annexure XVI).
