CBT-2, CBAT, document verification and medical: dates not announced yet.
One tap puts every important ALP date — CBT-1 now, and CBT-2, the CBAT, document verification and the medical once RRB announces them — into your phone's calendar. A new date appears there by itself, so you don't have to keep checking.
Choose your calendar:
On Android, Google Calendar adds a calendar only from its website — the button opens it for you.
✍️ Your signature — the only file RRB asks every applicant for

RRB asks every applicant for one file: their signature. Sign on plain white paper with a black ink pen, in running handwriting (joined letters) — not in capital, block or separate letters.
Add a photo or scan of it in the signature box at the top of this page. We crop it, clean the background and save it as RRB asks: a JPG of 30 KB to 49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels. In the form it sits in a box 35 mm wide and 20 mm high.
RRB can reject an application at any stage for a background that isn't white, ink that isn't black, capital letters, a thumb impression or someone else's signature.

The form takes your photograph live with a webcam or your phone's front camera. You don't upload one. Wear clothes that aren't white — dark colours are best — and no cap, mask or glasses.
You can retake it until you submit. Never photograph a printed or on-screen photo — that application is rejected. If the form can't match your live photo, it gives you a declaration (Annexure IX) to get signed by a Class-I Gazetted Officer and upload.

The form asks for the certificate's number, its date of issue and your caste as written on it. It must be in RRB's format (Annexure II), issued on or after 1 April 2026 and not after the last date to apply, and your caste must be in the central OBC list (ncbc.nic.in).

SC and ST candidates travel free (sleeper class) to each stage — CBT, CBAT, DV and medical. Choose the pass in the form and upload your SC/ST certificate: a PDF under 400 KB. The pass comes on each e-call letter; book with a self-attested photocopy of it and your certificate.

Before the form itself, you declare that you meet ALP's minimum fitness — eyesight (and no Lasik), hearing, speech, mental fitness, conditions such as diabetes or blood pressure, and no psychoactive substances. The form uses your answers to tell you whether you are eligible, and makes a medical report you will need at the CBAT (see that stage).

You need your own mobile number and email address. Made an account for an RRB notice in 2024 or 2025? Log in with it. What you enter here can't be changed later, so type your name and date of birth exactly as in your 10th certificate.

Choose one RRB — it can't be changed, and you normally serve your whole career in the railway you are first posted to. Applying twice gets every application rejected and can bar you from all RRB and RRC exams.
Pick your exam language — English, Hindi or one of 13 regional languages; the CBAT is only in English and Hindi. RRB advises a desktop or laptop.

Before you enter the hall, your identity is checked against Aadhaar by biometrics. Bring your original Aadhaar card or a printout of the e-verified Aadhaar, and keep it unlocked in UIDAI's system.
Your Aadhaar should show your correct name, date of birth (as in your 10th certificate), a recent photo, address and father's name. Haven't verified it yet? Log in on rrbapply.gov.in and do it now.

75 questions in 60 minutes: Mathematics, Mental Ability, and General Science (physics, chemistry and life sciences of the 10th standard). A wrong answer costs 1/3 of a mark.
To pass you need 40% (General and EWS), 30% (OBC and SC) or 25% (ST). CBT-1 only screens you for CBT-2: its marks don't count in the final list.

The form made a medical report from your self-screening answers. Download it, and get it signed by a general physician and an eye specialist of a central or state government hospital or medical college — from anywhere else it isn't accepted.
Bring it in original (Annexures VIII A and VIII B) on CBAT day, or you won't be allowed to take the test. It doesn't replace the Railways' own medical later. Hospital appointments take time — don't leave it to the last week.

Questions
Can PwBD candidates apply for ALP?
No. RRB lists the post as not suitable for persons with benchmark disabilities, and its FAQ says PwBD candidates are not eligible to apply.
I have had Lasik. Can I be an ALP?
No. ALP needs medical standard A-1 — 6/6, 6/6 without glasses — and anyone who has had Lasik or other corrective eye surgery is not eligible.
What is the medical declaration for the CBAT?
The report the form made from your self-screening answers (Annexures VIII A and VIII B). Get it signed by a general physician and an eye specialist of a central or state government hospital or medical college, and bring it in original on CBAT day — without it you can't sit the test.
Can I apply with an engineering diploma or degree?
Yes — a three-year diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automobile engineering, or a degree in those, in place of an ITI. In CBT-2 Part B you then choose a trade listed against your branch. A graduate apprenticeship doesn't count.
Can I apply to more than one RRB?
No. One application, to one RRB. Applying to more than one, or twice to the same one, gets every application rejected and can bar you from all RRB and RRC exams.
