The blue stage is the one happening now; a stage outlined in blue is the next to start, with its date. A stage turns red — Closed — once its last date has passed. Green means you have finished every step in it.
Key dates
The mains result and the personality test: November 2026. Interviews: November 2026 to December 2026. Provisional allotment: January 2027. IBPS gives the months only.
One tap puts every IBPS PO date into your phone's calendar. A new date appears there by itself, so you don't have to keep checking.
Choose your calendar:
On Android, Google Calendar adds a calendar only from its website — the button opens it for you.
📸 Your photo and signature — the files the form asks for
JPG · 200 × 230 pixels · 20–50 KB · a recent colour photo on a light, preferably white, background
JPG · 140 × 60 pixels · 10–20 KB · black ink on white paper, not in capital letters
🎥 The form also takes a live photo — how to get it right
- A light-coloured, preferably white, background and enough light
- Look straight at the camera — no coloured glasses, sunglasses or cap
- No shadow on your face, no mask, not blurred
- No webcam? Scan the QR code on the form's screen and take it on your phone
As in CRP PO/MT-XVI — the next notice may change it.

A recent passport-style colour photo, taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background. Look straight at the camera; no cap, hat or dark glasses — religious headwear is fine if it doesn't cover your face.
IBPS prefers 200 × 230 pixels and takes a file of 20 KB to 50 KB; the form doesn't move on until the photo and the signature fit. The tool at the top of this page makes exactly that.
Keep about 8 prints of this same photo: you paste one on each call letter and bring one more with it. Don't change how you look until the selection is over — your face is matched with this photo along the way.

Sign on white paper with a black ink pen — not in capital letters, which are not accepted. IBPS prefers 140 × 60 pixels and takes 10 KB to 20 KB; the tool at the top of this page makes exactly that.
Sign the same way on your call letters and the attendance sheet: a signature that doesn't match the uploaded one disqualifies you.

Put your left thumb impression on white paper with black or blue ink. The file is a JPG of 20 KB to 50 KB, 240 × 240 pixels (3 cm × 3 cm at 200 DPI) — the IBPS uploads page makes it.
No left thumb? Use the right thumb; with neither, a finger of the left hand starting from the forefinger, then one of the right hand; with no fingers, the left toe — and write in the uploaded document which one it is.

Write this on white paper with black ink, in English and in your own handwriting — not in capital letters: “I, __________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
Written by anyone else or in another language, the application is invalid — and if your handwriting is later found not to match it, your candidature is cancelled. If you cannot write, you may have the text typed and put your left thumb impression below it (if you cannot sign either).
The file is a JPG of 50 KB to 100 KB, 800 × 400 pixels — the IBPS uploads page makes it.

The form also takes your SSC/SSLC/10th or equivalent certificate: a PDF of A4 pages, not more than 500 KB, clear and readable. Add a photo or a PDF of it here and we make the PDF.

The form asks you to put the participating banks in your order of preference. Fill it now: no change is accepted later, and your bank comes from your merit and this order.

Submit one application: with more than one, only the latest complete application is kept and the fees paid for the others are lost. Your name, e-mail, mobile number, the State/UT of both addresses, the post and your nationality can never be changed after you submit — spell your name exactly as on your certificates.
Give your graduation percentage to two decimals (a CGPA converted by your university's own rule). If you have a twin, say so under Twin Status. SC, ST, OBC and minority-community candidates who want IBPS's online pre-exam training opt for it in the form.
Want a scribe? Say so in the form — a later request may not be accepted, and the extra time is given only to those registered for it.

Pay online — debit or credit card, net banking, IMPS, a cash card, a mobile wallet or UPI — by the last day; the bank's charges are yours. Print the e-receipt and the form: if no e-receipt comes, the payment may not have gone through. A fee once paid is never refunded.

After applications close, IBPS opens a two-day edit window, on dates it puts up on ibps.in. You can correct and resubmit once, for ₹200 whatever your category; the fields that never change stay as they are, and after the window nothing can be changed.
A category can move from General, EWS or OBC to any category, but from SC, ST or PwBD only among those three; moving to SC, ST or PwBD refunds nothing already paid.

Download the call letter from ibps.in with your registration number and password or date of birth — nothing comes by post. Paste on it the same photo you uploaded.
It isn't taken from you at the prelims: the centre stamps it, with your ID photocopy, and hands both back. Keep them safe — without them you can't sit the mains.
Fill in your scribe's details when you download the call letter, and download the scribe declaration form with it.

Bring your own scribe, at your own cost — someone who is not taking this exam and is a scribe for no one else in it. You get 20 minutes of compensatory time for every hour, but only if you registered for it in the form. Hand in the scribe form at the prelims and again at the mains.

Bring the call letter with your photo pasted on it, one more copy of that photo, and an original photo ID with a photocopy — PAN card, passport, permanent driving licence, voter's card or bank passbook with your photo, a photo ID from a gazetted officer or a people's representative, a college or university ID card, Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar with your photo, an employee ID or a Bar Council ID. A ration card or a learner's licence is not accepted, and the name on the ID must be exactly the one on the call letter.
Reach before the reporting time on the call letter — after it you are not let in — and expect to be there about two hours. Your photo and right thumb impression may be taken: wash off any mehndi or ink and keep your fingers dry.
Changed your name? Bring the original gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit.

Three separately timed tests of 20 minutes: English Language (30 questions, 30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions, 30 marks) and Reasoning Ability (35 questions, 40 marks) — 100 marks in all. English Language is in English; the other two in English and Hindi.
You must clear IBPS's cut-off in each of the three tests. A wrong answer loses a quarter of the question's marks; a blank one loses nothing. The prelims only take you to the mains — their marks don't count in your final merit.

Four objective tests, separately timed and not necessarily in this order: Reasoning (40 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes); General, Economy, Banking, Digital and Financial Awareness, RBI circulars included (50 questions, 60 marks, 35 minutes); English Language (40 questions, 20 marks, 35 minutes); and Data Analysis and Interpretation (40 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes).
You need IBPS's minimum in each test and in the total. A wrong answer loses a quarter of its marks. Scores from different sessions are normalised.

IBPS declares the mains result (November 2026 in its schedule), shortlisting on the mains marks alone for the personality test and the interview — you need its minimum in each test and in the total. Your mains score isn't shown until the interviews are over.
The mains marks count again: they are 80% of your final score, the interview the other 20%.

Everyone who clears the mains is called for a self-report personality test (November 2026 in IBPS's schedule), online under a proctor or at a test centre, as IBPS decides. It doesn't pass or fail you, but you must take it to be interviewed; your profile from it is put before the interview panel.

The participating banks hold the interviews at select centres, coordinated by a nodal bank in each State or UT (November 2026 to December 2026 in IBPS's schedule). Your call letter, from ibps.in, gives the centre, date and time; no request to change them is accepted.

In this order, each original with a self-attested photocopy: the interview call letter; the printout of your online application; proof of your date of birth (birth certificate or 10th certificate); your photo ID; your graduation marksheets or certificates, with proof of the result declared by 21 July 2026; and, for a CGPA, your university's certificate of how it converts to a percentage.
Without the documents you may not be allowed to interview, and your candidature is cancelled. Send nothing to IBPS or the banks.
Your SC or ST certificate, in the Government of India's format.
Your OBC certificate in the Government of India's format with the non-creamy layer clause, issued on or after 1 April 2026. In the creamy layer, or with a caste not in the Central List, you apply as General.
Your EWS Income and Asset Certificate in the prescribed format, valid for 2026-2027 on the financial year 2025-26.
Your disability certificate in the prescribed format from the District Medical Board, and your scribe's details if you had one.
Your service or discharge book with the pension payment order and proof of your last rank — or, still serving, a certificate that you will be released by 20 July 2027; without it you are disqualified.
A No Objection Certificate from your employer, in original — one for a particular bank isn't accepted.
The original gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit for your changed name.

After the interviews (January 2027 in IBPS's schedule), IBPS allots you to one participating bank on merit and the order of preference in your form, under the reservation rules, against the vacancies the banks actually report. On equal scores, the older candidate comes first.
The allotment is final: no change is made, and asking for one cancels your candidature. It isn't yet a job offer — the bank checks your eligibility and documents.

The offer of appointment, its terms and the joining are the bank's alone. Take it up, or you lose your chance in this round. Appointment needs you to be declared medically fit under the bank's rules, and the post is All-India: you can be posted anywhere in India or abroad.

IBPS may keep a reserve list of about 20% of the vacancies in each category, allotted three or four times as banks report more vacancies, until one year after the provisional allotment or the next allotment, whichever is earlier. It guarantees nothing; neither allotted nor on the list, this round is over for you.

Questions
When is the next IBPS PO?
IBPS runs the PO recruitment once a year. When the next notification comes, this page moves to it — add the dates to your calendar above and the new ones appear there.
Do my prelims marks count in the final merit?
No. The prelims only take you to the mains; the final merit is the mains and the interview, 80:20.
When will I see my mains score?
Not before the interviews are over: IBPS doesn't share mains scores with those shortlisted until the interview process is complete.
Can I change my bank or my order of preference?
No. The order you gave in the form is final, and once you are allotted, asking for a change cancels your candidature.
I wasn't allotted. Is there a waiting list?
IBPS may keep a reserve list of about 20% of the vacancies, used if banks report more within one year of the allotment. Neither allotted nor on it, this round is over for you.
