Türkiye gives Indians an e-Visa only if you already hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit — single entry, one month. Without one you need a sticker visa through a Turkish mission. Start at visa.gov.tr: the e-Visa address the Ministry publishes currently redirects to a contractor with no application form.
Quick answer: Turkey visa applications from India vary by situation — pick yours below and the list changes. Everyone brings:
Passport (photo page scan)
Requirements change with visa type and consulate — confirm the official checklist before you apply.
First: which of the two visas you can actually get
🔴 Türkiye gives an Indian passport holder one of two visas, and which one is not your choice — it turns on a document you either hold or do not. Everything else on this page follows from it.
Visa
Rule
Where you actually hand it in
e-Visa, online
You hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit
Single entry, one month, tourism or commerce. No biometrics, no appointment
Sticker visa
You hold none of those
Pre-apply at visa.gov.tr, then a Gateway visa centre — 16 documents, minimum 4 working days
🔴 Before you click anything: the address the Turkish government itself publishes for the e-Visa — www.evisa.gov.tr — does not currently serve an application form. (checked 2026-09-07)
The site returns HTTP 200 but redirects to dtvgroup.com.tr, the corporate site of a private company.
That company, DTV, is an authorised contractor of the Turkish foreign ministry and says so — this is not a hijacked domain. But its site has no application form.
Its own "E-Visa Online Application" button links back to evisa.gov.tr, which redirects to DTV again. The loop closes with nowhere to apply.
The information pages still work: evisa.gov.tr/en/info/ serves the real FAQ, and /en/status/ is where the Embassy tells you to check a visa you already hold.
Start at visa.gov.tr instead. Every Turkish visa application has begun there since 5 January 2016, and the Ministry says the system sends applicants who qualify on to the e-Visa.

Step 2 of 7
What Türkiye checks before anything else
If you are taking the e-Visa route, one document decides it — and the Embassy in New Delhi publishes rules the general FAQ leaves out:
It only has to be valid by date on the day you enter Türkiye. Nothing else about it matters.
A single-entry visa counts even if you have already used it, and even if you never used it, as long as its validity covers your entry date.
🔴 An e-Visa from another country is NOT accepted. A US B1/B2 sticker or a UK residence permit works; another country’s electronic visa does not.
A supporting visa in an OLD or expired passport still counts, provided its own validity covers your entry date. Register the e-Visa on your current passport and carry both.
🔴 The e-Visa website does not check your supporting document at all. The airline does, at the departure gate — and if it does not meet these criteria they will not let you board.
There is no visa on arrival for an Indian passport. Türkiye publishes the list of nationalities that may get one — 21 of them — and India is not on it.
The passport rule is not the same on the two routes, and neither is the "six months" everyone repeats:
For the e-Visa, the statutory test is Law 6458 article 7.1b — valid at least 60 days beyond the DURATION OF STAY. A one-month e-Visa therefore needs 90 days from the day you land.
For the sticker visa, the Embassy asks for more: 6 months beyond your intended stay, a passport issued less than 10 years ago, and at least two completely blank pages.
The Ministry publishes worked examples for the statutory rule: a 30-day stay needs 90 days of validity, a 90-day stay needs 150.
Six months satisfies both tests for a normal tourist trip, so the common advice is safe even though it is not the legal wording.

Step 3 of 7
The documents — the Embassy publishes a numbered list
Everyone brings these
Your passport — the validity rule differs by route, see above
The rest of the list depends on your situation. Pick yours to shorten it — or read all of them.
Showing the situation you picked last time.
If you hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit — the online e-Visa
Your valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit
No biometrics and no appointment — an eligible e-Visa applicant gives neither
The ORIGINAL supporting document, carried with you — Turkish immigration asks for it at entry
If you hold none of those — the sticker visa, through a visa application centre
The application form, filled in by hand in CAPITAL LETTERS in blue or black pen, signed, with one photograph affixed
Two biometric photos, 2.5 × 2.5 inches, white background, taken within the last 6 months, full face without shadow
Travel insurance valid for at least the length of the trip
A confirmed round-trip flight reservation
A hotel reservation
Three months of bank statements — original, or copies attested by the bank
A leave letter from your employer, or a covering letter on your own business letterhead if you are self-employed, signed and sealed
Copies of the first and last pages of your passport
If your own funds are short, a notarised financial support letter from a sponsor — not accepted from a spouse, parent or child
If you are visiting someone in Türkiye, their invitation letter naming you and your passport number, plus a copy of their identity card and bank account
A marriage certificate, if the marriage is not shown in your passport — or a notarised affidavit
If an agent files for you, an original letter of attorney from every applicant
If you are salaried
Three months of salary slips or certificates
Form 16
If you are self-employed
Your GST registration
Three months of the company’s bank statements, original or bank-attested
If you own the business
Your GST registration
Three months of the company’s bank statements, original or bank-attested
If you are a student
An original NOC from your school or college — mandatory for students, not optional
One requirement that catches families: a minor needs a consent letter from BOTH parents in every case — including when the child is travelling with both parents. It must be on stamp paper, carry photographs of both parents and the child, and be notarised.
🔴 You do not hand your sticker application to the Embassy. It says so itself: the Embassy in New Delhi and the Consulates in Mumbai and Hyderabad do not accept sticker visa applications directly. Everything goes through Gateway Management, the visa application centre, which has about sixteen offices across India.
Book the appointment with the centre, not the mission — one call centre for all of India on 022 67866029, or delhi@ / mumbai@ / hyderabad@gateway.com.tr.
Processing is a minimum of 4 working days in India for a tourist or business visa, 2 to 4 days longer outside Delhi, and up to 5 days more in high season.
The Embassy will not tell you where your application has got to. Tracking is the centre’s job.

Step 5 of 7
What it costs, in rupees
The New Delhi Embassy publishes its visa fees in rupees. Two things to hold together: this is the government fee, and the visa centre charges its own service fee on top.
Fee
Amount
Single entry
₹4,555
Multiple entry
₹14,410
Single transit
₹4,555
Double transit
₹9,110
Gateway visa centre service fee, regular
USD 50 + tax
Gateway visa centre service fee, premium
USD 75 + tax
Two notes on the numbers. The Embassy states an e-Visa costs at least USD 85 less than a sticker visa, which is the strongest argument for checking whether you qualify. And the fee schedule PDF linked from the Ministry’s own visa page is dated 2014 and lists 38 countries — India is not among them, so it is a dead end.

Step 6 of 7
What you get, how long it takes, and what gets refused
What an Indian passport gets, and what a refusal costs:
The e-Visa is single entry, valid one month, for tourism or commerce only. Work and study visas come from a mission, never the e-Visa.
A diplomatic passport is exempt for 90 days. Ordinary, special and service passports all need a visa.
The mission may change your visa type or duration, or refuse you, without giving a reason. The fee is not refunded either way.
The six refusal reasons it does publish: missing documents, documents that do not stand up, unattested copies where originals were required, false documents, and failing either the Turkish internal clearance or the Embassy’s own assessment.
There is no waiting period after a refusal — you may apply again immediately, but you pay every fee again.
🔴 A trap that catches people who are not even visiting Türkiye. If you hold an Indian passport and transit İstanbul Airport on the way to Mexico, Panama, Colombia or Venezuela, you need an Electronic Airport Transit Visa — even though you never leave the airport. It is free, and you must carry the printout: the airline checks it before you board and Turkish authorities check it in the transit area.

Step 7 of 7
Nobody is authorised to do your e-Visa for you
🔴 Worth reading before you pay anyone. The Turkish Embassy in New Delhi states that no handling company has been given the right to issue or facilitate an e-Visa, and that applicants should make their own e-Visa application.
The Embassy warns that sites other than the official one are fake, and that they charge more than twice the official fee for doing exactly what you can do yourself.
If you have already used one, the Embassy points you to evisa.gov.tr/en/status/ to check whether what you were sold is real.
The sticker route is different: there the visa centre is official and its fee is published. An agent filing on your behalf there needs an original letter of attorney from every applicant.

Each section names its source underneath it. Where a line came from the agent channel rather than the authority, or from a single filing, it says so on that line — those are not the same kind of fact and this page does not blur them.
Frequently asked questions
Turkey visa from India — what documents are needed?
It depends entirely on which of the two visas you qualify for. For the online e-Visa: your passport and a valid Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence permit — that is all, with no biometrics and no appointment. For the sticker visa the Embassy in New Delhi publishes a numbered sixteen-item list: the handwritten form in capitals with a photo affixed, the original passport, two 2.5-inch biometric photos, a leave or covering letter, travel insurance, a confirmed round-trip ticket, a hotel reservation, three months of bank statements, and either salary slips with Form 16 or your GST depending on what you do. Minors need a notarised consent letter from both parents even when travelling with them. Pick your route above and the list changes.
Turkey visa — where do I apply?
Start at visa.gov.tr — every Turkish visa application has begun there since 5 January 2016, and the Ministry says the system routes applicants who qualify on to the e-Visa. Do not start at evisa.gov.tr: as of 7 September 2026 that address redirects to a contractor’s corporate site with no application form. If you need the sticker visa, you will not hand it to the Embassy at all — the missions in New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad do not accept applications directly, and everything goes through a Gateway visa application centre. Which mission covers you depends on your state, and the table above shows the split.
Can I print my visa documents from here?
Yes — print any document individually, print the whole set as one PDF, or print a blank checklist to tick off. Printing matters more for Türkiye than for most: the sticker application form is filled in BY HAND in capital letters, signed, with a photograph physically affixed, and handed over at the visa centre with the originals. On the e-Visa route there is nothing to print except the visa itself — and the airport transit visa, if you are transiting İstanbul, must be carried as a printout.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
No. The checks, the merged PDF, the ZIP and printing all happen in your browser. Your passport and bank statements are never sent to any server.
A PDF was skipped when building.
Password-protected PDFs (like some bank statements) are no longer skipped — the pack asks for the password while it builds. A file is only skipped if the password was not given.
