🇪🇬 Egypt — Visa Documents for Indians

🔒 Built in your browser — your passport never leaves your device

Egypt gives Indians an electronic visa through one government portal — USD 30 single entry, USD 65 multiple. Get it before you fly: the portal states a visa is required prior to entry. Print it, because the printout is what the officer at the airport asks for.

Quick answer: Egypt visa applications from India vary by situation — pick yours below and the list changes. Everyone brings:

Requirements change with visa type and consulate — confirm the official checklist before you apply.

🖨️ Print a blank checklist to tick off while you gather documents

Who is applying? The list below changes to match.

Printing skips the visa photo — photos are for online uploads; get physical copies printed at a photo studio.

Step 1 of 4

The e-Visa, and who cannot use it

Egypt runs a single electronic visa portal, operated by its Ministry of Interior, and India is on the published list of nationalities that may use it. You create an account, apply, pay by card, and download the visa when it is approved.

VisaFee
Tourism, single entryUSD 30
Tourism, multiple entriesUSD 65
  • The processing fee is not refundable, and an incomplete application is rejected rather than queried.
  • Every traveller needs their own application in their own account. The one exception: parents may apply for their children from theirs.

The e-Visa is for ordinary passports only. Diplomatic, Service, Special, Official, Temporary, Nansen, Refugee, Mission, Alien’s and July 51 Agreement passports are excluded and must go to an Egyptian embassy or consulate instead.

Step 2 of 4

Two things Egypt says plainly before you book

🔴 Get the visa before you fly. Egypt’s own portal states that a visa is required prior to entry, and no Egyptian government source published a visa-on-arrival route for Indian passport holders when this page was checked — not the portal, and not the foreign ministry, whose consular section simply points back at the portal.

🔴 Worth knowing before you treat the e-Visa as settled: Egypt says in two separate places that holding one does not guarantee entry. The portal’s disclaimer puts it as "the possession of an e-Visa is not the final authority to enter", and the FAQ adds that port authorities may refuse an e-Visa holder without any explanation. That is why the documents below matter at the border and not only at the application.

Step 3 of 4

What to carry — and note where you have to show it

Everyone brings these

  • Passport valid at least 6 months from your arrival date
  • The e-Visa printout — Egypt requires the printed copy at the port of entry, not the one on your phone
  • Your travel itinerary

The rest of the list depends on your situation. Pick yours to shorten it — or read all of them.

If you are going as a tourist

  • Hotel bookings, or details of the places you plan to visit

If you are going for business or to visit family

  • A supporting letter — a letter from your company, or an invitation letter for a family visit

🔴 The most useful thing Egypt publishes, and the easiest to misread. This list is headed "entry requirements (on arrival)" — these are things you SHOW the officer at the airport, not files you upload with the application. The uploads, if any, sit behind the account login.

  • A passport valid at least 6 months from the day you arrive.
  • The e-Visa printout. Egypt asks for it in two separate places, so print it.
  • Your travel itinerary.
  • A supporting letter — from your company, or an invitation, if the trip is business or family.
  • Hotel bookings, or details of where you plan to go, if the trip is tourism.

Step 4 of 4

At the airport

Print the visa before you leave home. The application flow ends with "download and print the e-Visa from your account", and the disclaimer repeats that the printout must be presented at the port of entry. Carry the papers above in the same folder — they are the ones the officer may ask for, and an e-Visa alone is not the final word on entry.

Each section names its source underneath it. Where a line came from the agent channel rather than the authority, or from a single filing, it says so on that line — those are not the same kind of fact and this page does not blur them.

Frequently asked questions

Egypt visa from India — what documents are needed?

Fewer than most destinations, but note where they are needed. Egypt publishes a list headed "entry requirements (on arrival)": a passport valid at least 6 months from your arrival date, the e-Visa PRINTOUT, your travel itinerary, and then one of two things depending on the trip — hotel bookings or details of places you plan to visit if you are a tourist, or a company or invitation letter if it is business or a family visit. Those are shown to the immigration officer rather than uploaded; whatever the application form itself asks for sits behind the account login.

Egypt visa — where do I apply?

Online, at Egypt’s e-Visa portal, which is run by its Ministry of Interior. You create an account, confirm it, sign in, choose the visa type, fill in the form, pay by Visa, MasterCard or another debit card, then download and print the visa when it is approved. India is on the published list of nationalities eligible to use it. Ordinary passports only — diplomatic, service, official and several other passport types are excluded and go to an Egyptian embassy or consulate instead.

Can I print my visa documents from here?

Yes — print any document individually, print the whole set as one PDF, or print a blank checklist to tick off. Printing is not optional for Egypt: the application process ends by telling you to print the e-Visa, and the portal’s disclaimer says the printout must be presented at the port of entry. The supporting papers are worth carrying on paper too, since they are for showing at the airport rather than uploading.

Are my documents uploaded anywhere?

No. The checks, the merged PDF, the ZIP and printing all happen in your browser. Your passport and bank statements are never sent to any server.

A PDF was skipped when building.

Password-protected PDFs (like some bank statements) are no longer skipped — the pack asks for the password while it builds. A file is only skipped if the password was not given.
