How much will your home loan EMI be?
A home loan is usually the biggest and longest loan you'll take — often ₹20–80 lakh over 15–30 years at around 8.5% per year. Because the tenure is so long, a small change in the interest rate or tenure moves both your monthly EMI and the total interest by a lot. Enter your loan amount, rate and tenure to see your EMI, the total interest over the loan, and exactly how the outstanding balance falls each year. Everything runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum home loan tenure?
Usually up to 20–30 years (some lenders up to 35). A longer tenure lowers the EMI but raises the total interest.
Are there tax benefits on a home loan?
Under the old regime: principal under Section 80C (up to ₹1.5 lakh) and interest under Section 24(b) (up to ₹2 lakh on a self-occupied home). Compare regimes with the Income Tax Calculator.
Fixed or floating rate?
Most home loans are floating, linked to the RBI repo rate, so the EMI or tenure can change as rates move.
How much EMI can I afford?
Lenders prefer total EMIs within about 40–50% of your net monthly income — judge it on take-home pay, not CTC.
