Rajasthan Ration Card — Documents Required

🔒 Read-only guide · nothing is uploaded

Quick answer: For a new ration card in Rajasthan you need: Copy of the ration card; Copy of the Jan Aadhaar card (older households may hold this as a Bhamashah card); A document proving the inclusion category you are claiming; An affidavit on plain paper stating that none of the exclusion criteria apply to you. Ration cards are run by each state separately, so this is Rajasthan's own list — it is not the same as the neighbouring state's.

Documents required in Rajasthan

Rajasthan is the only one of these five states that asks for a sworn affidavit — a plain-paper declaration that none of the exclusion criteria apply to you. Older households may still call the family ID a Bhamashah card; the current rules name Jan Aadhaar. One thing to know before you start: in Rajasthan the ration card and food security inclusion are two separate applications, and holding a ration card does not by itself mean the household receives subsidised grain.

How to apply in Rajasthan

You apply through the state SSO portal: log in, open Citizen Apps (G2C), then e-Mitra, then Services, Avail Services, Utility, and search for the service called Ration - New Ration Card Form Filling (Form 1). Pick your district and block or nagarpalika, fill in the applicant and member details, upload the documents and verify. The application then goes to the BDO or EO office for verification, and you can print the card once the status reads Ready for Printing.

Who cannot get a card in Rajasthan

A household is ruled out if any member pays income tax, is a regular employee or officer of a government, semi-government or autonomous body, or draws a pension above ₹1 lakh a year. Owning a four-wheeler rules you out, except a tractor or one commercial vehicle used to earn a living. The income ceiling is ₹1 lakh a year. Property is tested by floor area, in three bands: more than 1000 sq ft in a municipal corporation or council area, more than 1500 sq ft in a municipal board area, and more than 2000 sq ft for a self-built pucca house in a village. Slum dwellings are excepted from the urban tests. There are 32 categories through which a household can qualify.

What you get, and what it costs

How much grain you get depends on the card, not the state. An Antyodaya (AAY) household gets 35 kg a month for the whole household. A Priority Household (PHH) gets 5 kg per person per month, so the total depends on how many members are on the card.

It costs nothing. Foodgrains under the National Food Security Act have been free since 1 January 2023, and the free period was extended for five years from 1 January 2024.
