🔒 Your files never leave your device

ToolGalli is built differently from most "online" tools. There is no upload, and there is no server that processes your files.

How it works

Every tool on this site runs as JavaScript inside your own web browser. When you choose a file — a PDF, a photo, your Aadhaar — it is opened and processed locally on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. When you close the tab, it's gone. Don't take our word for it — verify it yourself with the airplane-mode test.

What we collect

We do not collect your files or the information you type into the tools. We may use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (page views only) to understand which tools are useful. We also keep an anonymous usage counter — a single number per tool (e.g. "Compress PDF was used 1,240 times") that powers the "Used N times" badge; it contains no files, no IP addresses and nothing about you. To understand whether ToolGalli is genuinely useful, your browser also keeps a small note on your own device of when it last visited and which tools it has used before; it sends us only anonymous tallies like "a returning visitor" or "someone used this tool again" — never an identifier, never anything that can single you out, and clearing your browser data removes the note. It also tells us how far a visit, and each page in it, got — whether it stayed more than a few seconds, paid attention, or finished something, and whether it reached 2, 3 or 6 pages — counted on your device as it happens, with only the step sent.

See exactly what we do and don't collect — in plain English.

Improving document detection

Some features identify what kind of document a file is (photo, signature, marksheet…) — this identification runs entirely on your device. If we guess wrong and you correct the label, we count that correction anonymously (for example: "a marksheet was mistaken for a certificate — 12 times") so we can improve detection for everyone. What is sent is only the two category names from our own list — never your document, never its text or filename, and never anything you typed yourself. If you don't correct a label, nothing is sent at all.

Feedback on our guides and tools

At the end of our guides we ask "Did this page answer your question?", and after a tool has done its job, "Did this work?" (on calculators, "Did you get your answer?"). If you answer, we count it — for example, "No, on the ration card guide" — together with any reasons you tick from our list. If you also write a comment, we keep it for 90 days and then delete it automatically. Before it is sent, your browser removes anything that looks like a phone, Aadhaar, PAN or account number, and a name you give ("my name is …"), and shows you what will be sent; we run the same check again when it arrives. If a comment still carries anything personal, we delete it when we read it. We keep no IP address and nothing that links a comment to you or to another visit, so we cannot reply. Your browser remembers for 30 days that you answered, so that page does not ask again.

If a search on our site doesn't find what you typed and you leave without opening a result, we keep what was searched — at most 40 characters, with anything that looks like a phone, Aadhaar, PAN or account number, an email address or a name you give removed — for 90 days, so we can add what people look for. A search that finds its page is never sent, and nothing you type into a tool ever is.

When something is prepared here that a portal or office will check — an exam photo or signature, a passport photo, a PDF to fit a size limit, or a Form Ready pack — your browser keeps a private note of which page and the date, on your device only. On a later visit within 30 days we may ask once whether it was accepted, and once more a week later if it had not been submitted yet. Your answer, any reasons you tick and a comment if you write one are handled like the feedback above. The note itself never leaves your device, and is deleted after 30 days.

Optional on-device storage

Some features — like "Remember my documents" in Form Ready, or an optional document check that reads a file with on-device OCR — work entirely inside your browser. If you opt in, files are kept in your own browser's local storage on your device; they never reach us, and unticking the option erases them. Clearing your browser data also removes them.

Aadhaar & sensitive documents

Because processing happens only in your browser, your Aadhaar or other documents are never stored by us. ToolGalli is an independent utility and is not affiliated with UIDAI, any bank, or any government body. Always download your official documents from official sources.
